Xiaomi is now busy rolling out HyperOS 2 updates to all eligible devices with quite a few having already received the update. The new HyperOS 2 update brings better performance, faster animations, better battery life and a whole suite of AI features including an AI assistant.

Now Xiaomi has announced monthly updates for its devices in China which follows a confirmation by Poco India executive that monthly updates may happen in 2025.
The updates will be divided into three major categories,
Major Upgrade
There will be one major upgrade with new version of HyperOS which normally also include an upgrade of the Android version also. Here the version number will change from 2 to 3 for example.
Minor Upgrade
Three minor upgrades every year while will not change the HyperOS version will include new features which can be for example new AI features.
Security and Bug fix updates
Lastly eight updates will be solely for security updates and bug fixes.
The announcement shows Xiaomi taking there software more seriously which while have good stability and performance the battery life and AI features are still lacking. Hope they bring this schedule Globally so that Xiaomi fans across the world can have a better experience for their smartphones.
