AI Features of Mediatek Dimensity 8300 Ultra
While Poco X6 Pro is below the Poco F6 lineup it has the powerful Mediatek Dimensity 8300 Ultra processor with MediaTek NPU 780 which has support for on device generative AI like the processors available in Poco F6 and F6 Pro(Ref:Mediatek)
Luckily there is a method for bringing AI Erase Pro and Intelligent Image Expansion feature to Poco X6 Pro.
Steps to install new AI features to Poco X6 Pro Gallery
Update 25.09.2024 With update 1.0.11.0 or newer there is no need to download the HyperOS gallery Editor app. You can skip the first two steps.
Step 1: First you need to download the HyperOS gallery Editor App from here. I have tested with the version 1.7.0.10 but newer versions also may work.
Step 2: Install the HyperOS gallery editor App and close both Gallery app and Gallery editor app by going to Settings->Apps->Manage Apps and press Force Stop. Also press the clear data option.
Step 3: Next open Gallery and select an image and press the Pencil Icon for editing the image. You will observe three dots appear at the bottom right corner if you wait a few seconds.
Next select the Manage plug-ins option and you will reach a window as below. If you have version 1.0.11.0 the plugin name will AI Expansion/ AI Erase Pro 2.0.
Step 4: Click on install for AI editor and make sure don't close the screen until install is successfully completed.
Step 5: The two features AI Erase Pro and Intelligent Image Expansion will be available to you now. To access it select an image and press the pencil icon for edit the image. To access AI Erase Pro select Create, then Erase and press the Pro button at the top.
To access the Intelligent Image Expansion select Crop under basic and select the AI expansion option.
