Xiaomi always had aggressive way of making sure your apps don't always run in the background and even with latest HyperOS the process is continuing. But with HyperOS the system is more intelligent to know which apps you might want to be always active based on your usage and their list of known apps like messaging apps. Even then some apps may be killed causing them to not work properly.
In this article I will explain the steps that you can take to make sure app doesn't get closed.
Step 1: Go to Settings then select Apps and manage apps option. Next search and find your app and select it.
Scroll down to Battery Saver and select No restrictions.
Step 2: Repeat the same steps as above and select manage apps and select the option background autostart.
Switch the toggle on for the app you want to run in the background if it hasn't.
Step 3: Next open the Security app and select the Boost Speed option. Select the settings icon at the top right corner.
Next select Lock Apps option and toggle on the app you want. This will make sure apps run in the background without getting deleted.
